How the
INFYNITO Began

Ferretti set out to build a yacht that would feel like an extension of the owner’s home, with no hard line between inside and out. The proportions were taken from explorer yachts built for long passages and set on a fast-displacement hull that runs at over 20 knots. The FY in the name stands for Ferretti Yachts.

The All-Season Terrace

The All-Season Terrace at the bow, furnished as a lounge under its roof

The Roof

The upper deck runs on past the dining room’s forward glass and roofs over the terrace, with a glazed skylight set into it. The sides stay open, and beyond the terrace an open sunpad fills the very bow. The forward deck, normally the most exposed part of a yacht, has shade at midday and shelter when the weather turns.

The Room

Here the terrace is laid out as a lounge, with a wide day bed across its forward end, backed with cushions. Ferretti also offered the space as a bar or with a spa pool. Moored stern-to, the bow points away from the quay, so the terrace stays private in harbour as well as at anchor.

The View

The forward dining room looks onto the terrace through a wide band of glass, and the lounge faces back towards it. From the table, the terrace and the sea beyond read as part of the room.

The Awards

Two of the model’s three awards in 2024 were given for the terrace itself: Outstanding Lifestyle Feature at the BOAT International Design and Innovation Awards, and Best Detail on a Yacht from Robb Report.

On Board

At the stern, the bathing platform lowers hydraulically into the water, with the tender garage behind it. Above, the aft deck sits in the shade of the upper deck, with a dining table, lounge seating and a stair to the deck above. Glass doors open from here into the saloon.

Main Deck

From the aft doors to the forward glass, this is one open room. The saloon comes first, with a long L-shaped sofa and armchairs. The galley sits amidships, open to both sides, with a counter where guests can sit while the cooking goes on and a day head opposite. The dining table for eight is forward.

Upper Deck

Upstairs, a second saloon shares the deck with the wheelhouse, and the helm looks over the terrace roof to the bow. Aft of it is open deck: sunpads under a shade on carbon poles, a grill, planters and a corner set up for exercise.

Lower Deck

One staircase runs up through the middle of the yacht and connects all three decks. At the bottom, the owner’s suite takes the full beam amidships. The bed faces forward, with picture windows in the hull on either side and a desk beneath one of them. The walk-in wardrobe is to starboard, the bathroom to port. Forward of the lobby are a twin cabin to port and a double to starboard, with the VIP cabin across the bow. All four cabins have their own bathrooms.

Crew Quarters

The crew live aft of the owner’s suite, between it and the engine room, with their own entrance from the port side deck: two cabins for four, two bathrooms and a mess with its own small galley.

Deck Plan

The INFYNITO 90 is built in several layouts. This is the four-cabin version, with all the cabins on the lower deck, the owner’s suite amidships, and the dining room forward on the main deck.

Design, Outside and In

Filippo Salvetti gave her a vertical bow and a long superstructure whose deep overhangs shade the decks below. Dark bands of glass run along both sides and wrap the two saloons, the upper one all the way round. Lower down, the long window in the hull belongs to the owner’s suite.

Inside, Ideaeitalia worked to the same lines: soft shapes, clean edges, furniture that stands free of the walls, and a residential calm that stops short of minimalism. On this yacht the palette is pale oak and warm neutrals, with dark stone kept for the bathrooms.

Propulsion

Twin MAN V12s of 1,800 hp each drive through ZF gearboxes and V-drives, which let the engines sit right aft. The fast-displacement hull is built in GRP to CE design category A, the directive’s ocean category. At an economical 12 knots she covers 1,200 nautical miles. When time matters more than fuel, she cruises at 17 knots and has 22 in reserve.

Stabilisation

The Sleipner fins do most of their work under way, the two Seakeeper 18 gyros at anchor and at low speed, so one system or the other is always working. Hydraulic thrusters at the bow and stern help in tight harbours.

Self-sufficiency

Two 35 kW Baudouin generators, a watermaker that makes 180 litres an hour and Starlink keep her independent of the shore. [She has Ferretti’s F.S.E.A. energy system: solar panels on the superstructure and a lithium battery bank that let her lie at anchor for up to X hours with the generators off.]
